It’s Happy 24th Birthday to one of the most outgoing and loudest people in Client Services, despite her dimunitive size – so come on down Claire Forbes and have a wonderful birthday tomorrow!!!
It’s incredible to think that we’re already approaching the 1000th competition for the BBC. In the last 9 months we’re now processed over 1.2 million entries. Our internal IT department have set up a technical solution via our competitions extranet to allow web and email entries to feed automatically into the draws. This allows the data capture screens to be pre-populated whenever we have a web winner.

It appears that the powers that be, namely the European Commission, have decided that we (the Sales Promotion industry) can continue to use the word ‘free’ when creating brand promotions. It’s not as cut and dried as this however and guidance must be taken to ensure the consumer is made fully aware of any product purchase required, postal costs etc.

Well I guess we’d all heard the gossip on the rumour mill working overtime about the bootylicious Innocent being chased by Coke – and yes it was confirmed yesterday that Coke has acquired a minority stake in Innocent for £30m. Bargain we say……but then again we are a little biased, having worked with Innocent for several years now!
