Promotions Easter planning

Mail order fulfilment means strong resource planning especially at busy times

With 3 short weeks coming up, MRM Operations are busy resource planning to ensure we despatch all client orders over this busy period. Just because business will be closed over the Bank Holidays, we know that this is a prime time for consumers to interact with promotions, apply for competitions or order products online.

As a result, the Easter period is our second busiest, after Christmas – and we expect an increase of 50-75% on normal volumes over this period.

Mail order fulfilment and order processing is always turned round within a maximum of 24 hours of order receipt although we strive for same day despatch with 98% of orders.

Whilst consumers are relaxing over the extended Easter break enjoying chocolate eggs, days out and cake – the Easter bunny here at MRM will be hopping busily to ensure all orders are despatched on time!

What is IiP?

The Investors in People assessment is an organisational improvement tool to help businesses grow and develop. It is an internationally recognised and respected mark of good practice.

Why do we want it?

  1. To give our clients and prospects confidence in our company. That we operate to high standards which have been audited and approved by a recognised accreditation.
  2.  To ensure that we continue to develop and improve our business.

MRM have made a commitment to the IiP program and we have appointed a company to assess our business with the view to achieving accreditation. The assessor spent two days with us at the end of 2010 where he interviewed many people across the company in different departments.

He looked at the way in which MRM leads, manages and develops its people in line with the 10 IiP Key Indicators. We were delighted that we are already very close to achieving accreditation and a comprehensive report written by the assessor has meant that we have developed plans to address and eliminate the final few gaps. 

We are confident that we will achieve IiP accreditation at the next assessment at the end of Feb 2011.
