At MRM we believe in using only the best technology to underpin our business - that is why we chose Dell and Microsoft as the backbone to our systems. Our current Server platform uses Dell PowerEdge servers running Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, supported by Active Directory technology. Our databases are hosted on either Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or IBM Universe; these proven technologies allow us to rapidly build custom solutions for our clients and ensure high database availability.
MRM are also proud of our developments in web services:- we currently host and manage over 30 intranet and extranet sites, and these are able to link securely to our database systems, allowing real-time data access.
Our in-house team of developers have been responsible for creating and maintaining our core systems; they have also built and deployed many custom solutions tailored to our clients’ needs.
Our systems are protected from electrical failure by UPS systems, from data corruption by realtime data backup using Microsoft DPM and daily tape backups. Recently, the introduction of a dedicated offsite Disaster Recovery suite has given us an added dimension of recovery. Our backup solutions are equally able to cope with a minor or major loss of services at our site. We believe that this investment shows our commitment to providing a professional and continuous service to our clients.
The MRM operating system environment of Windows 2000/2003 is based across 21 servers 12 of which now reside on a VMware high availability vitualised platform, which provide the power and capacity to accumulate, and process the huge volume of data generated through MRM's processes and data retention.
The majority of systems that support our business were designed and built in-house. A benefit of such extensive in-house development is that we have the experience on hand to further enhance and maintain our software to meet the needs of the market and our clients. MRM's mail order and POS management software has been designed in-house combining the best of proprietary software such as Mailbrain, with the flexibility that only bespoke software can provide - such as the ability to provide a 'batch control' process for POS, or managing payment transactions in multiple currencies.
