131,040 minutes and counting

If we say something’s going to happen in minutes that sounds like an awfully long time in the future doesn’t it? How about in the context of hours () or days ()? Any idea what we’re talking about yet?!

You guessed it, we’re talking about the dreaded C word…and with only weekends to go until Christmas you can be sure to have a smug colleague or friend who’s already finished their present shopping and has a pile of beautifully wrapped presents in a spare room!

We’re already working on the set up for Christmas campaigns, so now’s a great time to be briefing in your on-pack promotion, reward sourcing, or to tell us about the point of sale campaign that your National Account Manager has just agreed with a major grocery retailer. I mean, you could leave it until later, but we’d love to know early on so that we can be proactive and help you with the planning so that we can offer the best possible discounts on carriage, come up with some festive packaging to make your consumer melt when they receive their order – or to just chat through ideas that you’ve got but aren’t quite sure how to bring them to life?

Before we crack on in earnest with Christmas, we’re rather excited about this Friday as we’re heading to the stunning St Pancras Renaissance Hotel for the Institute of Promotional Marketing’s COGS Awards 2018. We’ve been shortlisted in four categories this year and are keeping our fingers and tippy toes crossed for recognition on Friday:

·         Mentos ‘Me & You’ loyalty scheme

·         Butchers Pet Care – personalised can promotion

·         Sport Relief 2018

·         RCI membership pack fulfilment – international campaign

Whether you’re a competitor, peer, client or agency – please do check out the IPM COGS Awards, they’re the only real opportunity we get to showcase the work that we and other service partners in our industry do, on behalf of our wide and varied client base and an awful lot of hard work goes into submitting entries.

In other news Vikki in our Commercial team is feeling very relaxed as, unusually for her, she’s not baking any birthday cakes this week. We keep hinting that she might like to test out new flavours on us, but so far she’s resisting. Here’s her latest cake, aren’t the foxes adorable!
