Vikki joins the IPM 30 Under 30 Programme

The Institute of Promotional Marketing has represented our industry since 1933 (incorporated as the British Sales Promotion Association).  Given Institute status in 1979, the name was changed in 1980 to better reflect its scope in an ever changing market. It demonstrates its commitment to education by providing professional courses which cover both practical and legal aspects of promotional marketing campaigns.

The IPM’s ‘30 under 30’ programme is a new initiative which aims to provide development sessions for the marketing leaders of the future.  As the name suggests, colleagues from member companies must be under 30 to qualify, and must be successful in the application process to be accepted onto the course.

MRM Business Development Executive, Vikki Godlington was delighted to be accepted onto the 2018 programme. Vikki has recently received her Certificate in Promotional Marketing and saw this as a great opportunity to widen both her contacts and knowledge of the industry:

“Working in this industry is something I immensely enjoy, the variety, the challenges and the amazing brands I get to work with. Every day forms a different story – briefs that make your brain tick and having to think outside the box to find the perfect solution for our clients’ needs. I’m really looking forward to taking part in this programme.

The nature of our business in marketing services means that no two campaigns are the same and I’m sure this will bring further insight and knowledge when discussing new campaigns with clients and prospects alike.”

This also demonstrates MRM’s commitment to the training and development of its team members as part of its continuous improvement programme.  Commercial Director, Mel Sheldon said:

“As a valued and hard-working member of my Commercial team, I’m delighted that Vikki has the opportunity to further expand her knowledge and networking to a wider group of like-minded individuals - she has much to offer in her ability to question and absorb information and will be a valuable member of the 30 under 30 programme.”

The benefits are also passed on to our clients, for example in widening the team’s knowledge of digital promotional techniques and ensuring knowledge on government regulation is up to date.
